Web App Development

We build web apps end to end — SaaS products, AI automation, internal tools — from architecture and APIs to the billing, dashboards and integrations that make any of it useful. Then we keep them running. One platform we started in 2016 is still ours to operate.

§ BUILT TO OUTLIVE THE LAUNCH
10 years
one platform, still ours to run

Globogate went live in 2016 and we still operate it: seven integrated apps, 200+ employer organisations, 5,000+ people through the pipeline. Most of a web app's life isn't the launch — it's the decade after it.

§ 01

Who this is for

Founders and product teams with a product to build, or one that has outgrown how it was built.

You have a product in your head and no idea what it costs The idea is clear enough to explain and nowhere near clear enough to quote.
You have a prototype that can't take real users It demos beautifully. It was never built to hold data, permissions or a second customer.
You're a domain expert, not a software company You know exactly what the product must do, and you don't want to become a CTO to get it built.
The roadmap is bigger than the team Two engineers, eleven committed features, and a board meeting in March.
It works, and now it has to scale More users, more markets, more surface — on an architecture that was scoped for none of it.
Someone is about to look under the hood An investor, an acquirer or an enterprise customer. Technical due diligence reads the code, not the deck.
§ 02

What we're usually fixing

The expensive problems in a web app are decided in the first three weeks and paid for in year two.

No written spec, so no definition of done Scope lives in Slack. Every demo ends in a discussion about what was agreed three weeks ago.
Architecture chosen by whoever was free A stack picked for one developer's comfort, holding a data model that was a guess at the time.
Auth and permissions bolted on late Roles retrofitted over a single-user assumption. The first enterprise customer finds all of it.
Billing finance can't reconcile Pricing tiers, suppliers and payouts spread across the product, a spreadsheet and someone's memory.
Dashboards nobody trusts Three numbers for the same metric, none reproducible, so decisions go back to intuition.
Integrations that fail quietly A third party changed a field. You find out from a customer, a week later.
§ 03

What we build

Architecture Data model, stack, service boundaries, and an explicit list of what we'd buy instead of build. Written down before anyone opens an editor.
Product engineering Design, build and operate, end to end. 6–18 weeks to an MVP with an embedded PM and tech lead — the engineer who writes it owns it.
AI automation A workflow someone runs by hand, handed to a model — once we've measured it's accurate enough on your data. Crawlers and pipelines, aspect-level sentiment, adaptive content and LLM features, shipped in production for analytics, education and research.
APIs & integrations Multi-supplier catalogues, third-party data sources, CRM and ERP systems, payment and marketing platforms — and pipelines that say when they break.
Authentication & access control Vetted membership, roles and permissions, user management and activity logs, built in from the schema rather than added over it.
Billing & reconciliation Pricing tiers, orders, commissions and payouts, with books finance can actually close. We built the settlement layer for a multi-supplier distribution platform.
Dashboards & analytics Operator dashboards inside the product, plus Metabase or Tableau for the people whose job is slicing the data.
Cloud & infrastructure AWS, Azure, Cloudflare, containerised deploys with CI/CD, observability and on-call playbooks. Staging from day one.
Scaling an existing product Taking a live product and growing it — more users, more markets, more surface. One platform has been in our hands since 2016.

From architecture to production

Nothing gets built before it's written down, and nothing is written down without the engineers who'd build it.

01 Architecture Sprint One week with the engineers who would build it. A spec, an architecture, and a fixed-price estimate you can take anywhere. ↳ 5 DAYS
02 Sign off the spec Scope, user flows, success criteria — and an explicit list of what is out of scope. Signed before week three. ↳ SPEC
03 Build Weekly demos from the first build week, staging deploys from day one. 6–18 weeks depending on scope. ↳ BUILD
04 Harden and launch Load, permissions, observability, data migration. The unglamorous week that decides the launch. ↳ LAUNCH
05 Operate and scale Monthly retainer for ops and features, a documented handover to your team, or a handover after a defined operate period. ↳ OPERATE

We take on anything from $5,000, including sites, small custom features, and other work too small to be a service line. The figures on this page are averages from projects we've already delivered, not quotes. Yours gets its own number once we've seen it.

Something else in mind?
Let's talk it through.

§ 07

Web app development, answered

Building a software product from the architecture up rather than assembling one from off-the-shelf tools — the data model, the API, authentication, billing, the dashboards and the integrations, plus the infrastructure it runs on. That covers SaaS products, internal tools and AI automation alike. You own the code and the IP.

6–18 weeks to an MVP, depending on scope. Our standard 12-week shape is two weeks of discovery, two of architecture, six of build, one to harden and one to launch. The Architecture Sprint gives you that number in writing before you commit to the build.

Product engineering runs $25K–$100K for a build, fixed-fee once the spec is clear. If you want to lower the number, the fastest lever is scope, and the sprint is where we find out which half of the roadmap matters.

Both, and the MVP is rarely where it ends. Several platforms in our portfolio started as a spec and are still in active development years later — one since 2016, running seven integrated apps for 200+ employer organisations.

Yes. If the product is live and struggling, that's a rescue rather than a build — start with our software project rescue service, which begins with a two-day audit of the code you already have.

Yes. To us it's a web app with a model in it — same team, same price band. The difference is the first step: instead of the Architecture Sprint we start with an AI Opportunity Assessment — one workflow, checked against your actual data, with a go / no-go before anything is built.

Yes — pricing tiers, orders, reconciliation and payouts. We built the supply, checkout and settlement layers of a digital distribution platform, and a commission-tracking system that pays out across web, mobile and social channels.

You do. Full source, repository access, and IP assignment in the contract. No escrow, no lock-in — and the sprint documents are yours whether or not you build with us.

If you want us to. Three options: a monthly retainer covering ops, bugs and small features; a documented handover to your team; or a handover after a defined operate period. Plenty of clients pick the first and stay for years.

More on pricing, process, IP and where we're based in the studio FAQ.

One week, four documents: a written specification, an architecture, a fixed-price estimate and an honest recommendation. The fee comes off the build.
